Pag-uwi (Back Home) is an investigation of the sensation of home. Sunlight transforms this space within the Fullerton Arboretum into a portal of the artist’s heritage in the Philippines. In choosing this site, the work references the mangos, guavas, and other fruits located in the nearby trees, which remind me of the times my family and I spent in the Philippines. These indigenous fruits are so much part of my culture and give me a sense of home.
