Hidden in Plain Sight , 2024

Cardboard Tubes , Wooden Steaks, Recycled Plastic Fencing, Aluminum Signs, Floral Foam, PVC Pipe, Yarn, Zip Ties, & Upcycled Black Tubes

Hidden in Plain Sight comments on the visual presentation of the cellphone tower and the normalization of disguising technology as nature. Natural landscapes become uncanny when the two contrasting entities of nature and technology attempt to be one. In addition, Hidden in Plain Sight brings awareness to the exploitation of the natural world and the irony surrounding the societal need to mass-produce artificial cell tower trees. This phenomenon emphasizes the implication that technology-providing trees are more desired than oxygen-providing trees.
