Somewhere Over the Rainbow, 2024
Painted Blue Mirror Balls, Fishing Line, Sequins, Grid Panels, Circle Garland
"Somewhere Over the Rainbow pays homage to the lives affected by tragedies that have touched the Lahaina community. Through vibrant colors carefully selected to reflect evolving hope, Godoy's work seeks to evoke appreciation for the beauty inherent in nature, particularly beneath the banyan tree. With dedication, Godoy drapes the tree with hues of love and hope reminiscent of the Maui skies. Blue birds, represented by blue pinecones, surround the work, while careful observers might glimpse mating ladybugs, adding a touch of life and renewal to the scene."
